Trials of the Tooth Fairy

The other day Noah lost yet another tooth, thanks to Jonah accidentally thwacking him in the head while they were horsing around outside. Fortunately it was a tooth that was already loose and hanging by a thread just waiting to come out. (That would make TWO teeth of Noah's that Jonah has knocked out. *sigh* BOYS.)

The7 came up to the house with their friends from across the street and handed me the tooth (gag!) and said to keep it safe so the tooth fairy could come that night. I put it in a small ziploc bag and said that it was all set for him to put under his pillow. That satisfied them and as they were all walking back across the street, I overheard this:

Friend: "D'you think the tooth fairy has a military ID? This is base housing ya know."
Noah: "Nah, I don't think she's military, so she must have to get a visitor's pass."

Don't say panties!!

My little princess is starting to use the potty! Yesterday I only changed ONE diaper (after naptime) and the rest of the day she went on the toilet like a big girl!! I'm so thrilled- neither one of the boys was potty trained until they were 3. Sophia's not even 2 yet! I know we're just beginning, but I am still excited. So today while we were out running errands, I let her pick out some big girl panties. She picked these cute little things (obviously in a smaller size!).Hubby came home for lunch and I told him that I bought her some panties to wear around the house and he gave me the infamous "Bobby look" (one raised eyebrow) and said "Panties??" I nodded, and asked him what the big deal was. They were only $3.50, so it's not like a dropped a ton of money on them. He just kept looking at me with a quizzical expression. Clearly not following him, I asked again what he was talking about. He looked at me with both eyebrows raised and said "You can't call them panties. Panties are lingerie. My not-yet-two-year-old daughter does NOT wear lingerie. Call them undies or underwear. Don't say panties!!"

After hearing the explaination, I rolled my eyes, threw my hands in the air and walked away trying my hardest not to laugh. I was unsuccessful.

First Steps

While we were visiting Natali & Brandon in California, Sophia took her first steps! She's very stubborn about taking anymore, but hopefully soon my baby will be walking all over!

Success!

It took 15 months, but it finally happened! We were able to acheive pigtails today! I was beginning to think that her hair would never be long enough to do the adorable hairstyle I'd been dreaming about since we found out she was a girl. But at long last the time has come to buy lots of matching hairbows!!
